The Sales and Marketing Coordinator will assist the sales and marketing staff as we seek new partners for MMI Dining through marketing of services, researching potential partners, building relationships, preparing business proposals and forming agreements.  This position will also assist with internal marketing functions for our current students, residents, members and customers.  This position has the potential to advance into a management role.

MMI is a family-owned hospitality company that partners with schools, colleges, universities and senior living communities in the southeast to manage their onsite dining operations.   As a smaller, privately-owned company, we take pride in being able to offer customized foodservice solutions for each operation.  We take a vastly different approach to dining in education than our competitors.  We put the students’ and residents’ needs first and foremost in every situation. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide all levels of administrative support to the sales and marketing department in order to keep them focused on developing new business
  • Frequent contact and support via phone and in person
  • Become well versed in all services MMI Dining offers
  • Assist with developing and maintaining MMI Dining websites
  • Assist with planning & executing sales and internal marketing events
  • Research prospects, make phone inquiries and update CRM database
  • Assist with proposal content, proofing and copy editing
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Computer Whiz: Microsoft Office – especially Power Point, Excel, Outlook & Publisher
  • Experience with Google Forms, Photoshop, Canva, WIX and WordPress would be a bonus
  •  Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social media, digital, and email marketing
  • A people person with hospitality mentality and a service heart
  • Grammar snob and creative writer
  • Creative thinker & part-time mind-reader

  • Multi-tasker who can handle organized chaos at times
  • Able and willing to plan for, load in, set up and break down tradeshow booths as a team

  • Assist with developing and managing content and social media marketing programs, blogs and public relations in an effort to increase our social media footprint
  • Conduct market research and identify trends in dining for future proposals and rollouts
  • Create, proofread, edit copy and produce marketing pieces
  • Planning, exhibiting and executing successful industry trade shows

Position Qualifications:

  • Self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or equivalent work experience is required
  • One to two years of sales and marketing experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and spoken (presentation) communication skills
  • Ability to travel overnight approximately 10 -12 times a year
